The adhesives are invisible but essential. They are in the objects used every day. Over the years, a wide range has been built to meet the needs of multiple industries: packaging, converting, tissue & towels, bookbinding and upholstered furniture, all the way to footwear and leather goods.
With an annual production capacity of over 50,000 tons, Giancol has become one of the leading companies in Italy and Europe.
At the heart of every product is a one-of-a-kind polymerization plant that allows the customization of each formulation. Because every customer is unique, and every solution should be too.
The production of water-based adhesives is managed by an advanced automated system: every phase is optimized, programmed, and tracked. But the most critical task remains with the operators: quality control.
The same care applies to Hot Melt adhesives, created with automated technologies, diathermic oil systems, and cooling circuits, all managed by PLCs developed with Giancol’s in-house expertise.
Attention to product quality is matched only by a commitment to the environment. For years, work has been carried out according to ISO standards, adopting sustainable and responsible practices: consumption control, reduced emissions, and a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system.
The purification plant helps recycle and reuse plastic packaging by cleaning and regenerating IBC containers returned by clients. It also optimizes reactor washing and internal system cleaning.

The purification plant consists of two sections: a physicalchemical treatment to significantly lower COD levels, followed by a membrane-based biological treatment that reduces COD almost entirely. All phases are managed by PLCs integrated into the company’s IT system, with remote management of all functions according to Industry 4.0 standards.
A new, modern laboratory is dedicated to the research and development of increasingly “Green” products that embody the slogan “Made in Italy, Made in Giancol”. This is not a borrowed slogan, but a phrase that articulates a core philosophy: tailor-made solutions developed alongside the customer, created to match their specific needs and their company values, rooted in Italy’s culture of craftsmanship and the pursuit of excellence.
Reception and delivery of all materials for analysis and bonding tests, both from customers and suppliers, are guaranteed with optimal response and processing times. A qualified and experienced team of technicians oversees the daily quality control of incoming raw materials and outgoing products, all product certification phases, and the development of new adhesives.
Giancol is now a trusted partner of the world’s leading chemical groups for the study and development of increasingly high-performing and eco-sustainable raw materials.

The range of products for Tissue & Towels is complete and covers all applications: from core winding to pick-up, lamination, and tail sealing.
Core winding glues are boric acid-free: formulated with specific polymers developed by Giancol R&D and produced in-house, they offer high adhesion and are suitable for contact, disc, and traditional applicators. They are waterdispersible, and support the highest speeds of modern core winders, ensuring excellent specific adhesion for one-, two-, or three-strip applications.
Pick-up products are available both ready-to-use and dilutable. They offer high wet tack and remain clean on the machines, even at high speeds.
Their short structure ensures clean release and zero staining, reducing downtime and boosting efficiency.
Lamination glues, based on polyvinyl alcohol, work with all cleaning systems and application types from toilet paper and kitchen rolls to industrial and napkin formats.
They come in various viscosities and dilution rates, making them flexible for 2-, 3-, or 4-ply lines while maximizing production flow. Tail sealing adhesives are ready-to-use and offer various dilution options depending on substrates and application systems. Good release, low staining and cleanliness are their key strengths.
The range is rounded out by biobased and metallocene hot melt adhesives, as well as pressure-sensitive adhesives in blocks.

All adhesives comply with current legislation on food contact, migratory substances, heavy metals, and everything else required to make the product safe for both the operator and the end consumer.
The Product Safety team also supports customers in all product approval phases and collaborates on specific needs for compliance assessments for different countries.
Sixty years later, quality glues and adhesives remain the history and, now more than ever, the future. “This yellow bucket is more than a container: it’s our signature, and today, like then, it stays in our family’s hands, a choice made to protect customers” said Giovanni Tognon, President and Founder of Giancol.
